A-Level results day – 2025

A-Level Results Day

Congratulations to you all for completing your A Levels, Diplomas, T – Levels and Further Education Qualifications. If everything has gone to plan, well done. We wish you well with the next step of your career journey.

Reflection

Whatever grades you have received, please take a moment to reflect of everything you have achieved to date. Your journey as a cohort of young people has been different to any other. Part way through your education, when taking your GCSE options, you had to adapt to a virtual learning environment. The world of study and work has changed from that point. Be proud and confident of your next steps.

Your next steps

Some of you may already have a plan and following through with that, and some may be re-evaluating your next steps. There are some amazing work opportunities and higher-level courses you can do locally.

You could continue your education (university or higher technical qualifications), start work, or combine the two with an apprenticeship at intermediate, advanced, higher or degree level.

There may be employers local to you who are looking for their next recruit. There is always more to a job and business than can be put into a job advert or social media post. To get an idea of the culture, values, and the feel of the business, a meeting is always best, for example, an interview. By visiting a business you can meet the team and ask any questions you may have. You may feel nervous before an interview, but ensuring you are prepared and organised can give you more confidence.

Transferrable Skills

Through your education, hobbies and part-time working, you have developed skills such as independent study, online communications, meeting deadlines, team working, and problem solving. You should be very proud!

These are the basic ingredients that employers look for in their new recruits, plus an interest and willingness to learn.

Support for Your Future

Your results give you and all employers a benchmark to compare with others academically. However, you will also have different skills and interests to discuss that can set you out from the rest.

There is support out there for you, such as your college/sixth form careers adviser or even local businesses if you feel you are work ready and would like an opportunity to earn and learn through an Apprenticeship.

For those that may wish to talk through their next steps, and for bespoke careers support in Cornwall, please do get in touch.

We wish you all the best with the next stage in your career journey.
