About me

I joined the Sue Willmott team as a HR Consultant in November 2021. I’m looking forward to meeting our current and new customers and learning more about how I can support you. I love to help businesses grow and develop, keeping your people at the centre of your activities.

I have had a varied and interesting career in HR, where I have been able to work in numerous industries, including hospitality, finance, maritime, travel/logistics, retail and STEM/engineering. This has given me a great insight into the different challenges and opportunities in a variety of commercial enterprises of different sizes and sectors.

Since moving to Cornwall I have had the pleasure of working with some iconic organisations within the county, and appreciate the diversity of businesses in the area.

I’m really looking forward to supporting our customers in creating and developing their people culture to ensure they are a successful and supportive business, offering a great place to work.

Developing People

Throughout my career, supporting and developing people has remained at my core. I thrive on helping people to develop and learn new skills to achieve challenges they didn’t think possible. Continuous improvement is an ever-evolving experience, which I try to foster and support wherever I can, whatever stage a person is in in their career, whether just starting out, diversifying or developing their role and skills further.

Keeping up to date & the SWHR Team!

To keep up to date, I ensure I engage regularly with the CIPD, the HR governing body, the FSB and both local and national events.

I’ve been in a stand-alone HR role for numerous years and I am looking forward to working with the SWHR team, where we work to our strengths and areas of expertise, supporting each other to support your business.

Outside of work…

I spend most of my non-working life outdoors, either on the water or in the countryside around us. We have two large dogs and two equally large teenage boys that all need to get out and burn off some energy regularly!

As a family, we love sailing. Most weekends are spent on a boat (although I have no real understanding of how to sail!). Most of the trips include one of my other passions, food. A sailing trip often ends in a local pub or restaurant for a bite to eat.

Any other time I have is spent trying to stay on top of my garden and keeping my chickens under control.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you soon!
