The UK’s third largest employer: The Tourism Sector

It’s English Tourism Week! (24th – 28th May)

As the third largest employer in the UK, the English tourism sector affects many of us in the South West including businesses, employees and residents. English tourism creates 2.6 million jobs and is a major employer of school leavers and young people; offering roles through work experience, seasonal work, traineeships and apprenticeships.

Here in the South West, we enjoy some of the most beautiful areas in the country. We are delighted to be able to share it once again, with our visitors.

Tourism has been massively affected by both Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic. As lockdown rules lift and businesses begin to open their doors once more, we understand that at times it can be a challenging environment. There will be times of stress and uncertainty alongside the excitement of reopening and being proud of your teams and products or services.

Our HR consultants have first-hand experience in the hospitality and tourism sector. We may be able to support you during this time with your HR needs in the short or longer term, whilst you focus or your customers. It would be great to find out more about you and your business to see how we could support you. We offer services such as recruitment, new employee packs and workforce development, as well as support with recruiting apprentices and setting up training packages. Our services are available across Cornwall and Devon.

For a no obligation, initial consultation, please phone 01208 862344 or use the contact page. We will happily arrange a conversation over the phone, Teams or an in-person meeting at your convenience. We look forward to meeting you soon!
