CrossRoads Careers Services

As part of Sue Willmott HR and Careers Consultancy, we have a specialist area for schools and colleges providing independent, impartial careers advice and guidance for students aged 11 – 18. Working with schools, colleges, local businesses and families, we enable young people to look at all the possible career paths available to them and help them to make informed choices.

Careers consultancy is one of Sue’s passions. She has achieved the Level 6 in Careers Advice and Guidance, enabling her to provide the best support possible. We continue to work with schools by adhering to Ofsted guidelines and have fulfilled Matrix accreditation requirements for the third time over eight years. We are experienced in setting up and supporting Careers Activities and work with the Cornwall Careers Hub, Compass Plus and we are a member of the CDI (Careers and Development institute) to keep up to date.

We provide advice on:

– Traineeships
– Apprenticeships including Intermediate through to Degree Level.
– Work Experience
– Further Education (A-levels, Diploma’s, International Baccalaureate and the all new T Levels)
– Higher Education (Foundation Degrees, Degrees, Higher Apprenticeships), both local and national
– CV building and interview confidence

As part of the service we also provide support to families of the student to help clarify the options available to them.

We normally provide face to face meetings but we now have more flexibility to offer video and telephone careers advice and guidance, through Teams and Zoom.

Not only do we work with students at school, college and university, we also work with adults who are seeking some careers advice and guidance.

We can support you if you are looking for your first job after achieving your qualifications, looking for a change of career or going for a promotion, facing redundancy or retiring from your role and looking for a new challenge.

An initial advice and guidance consultation is given which could lead onto 1:1 coaching on CV writing, job search, finding a job, applying for a job and interview skills, depending on the need of the client.
